They are “stretching” on some of these movies… but with many things if you look for something hard enough it, you will eventually find it.
What’s next? Utah senate debates ovulation? Women no longer allowed to waste eggs, you must fertilize everyone or else it’s an abomination!
Maybe that’s the plan all along? Keep women bare-foot and pregnant.
Geez.
I wrote this for my other blog.
This is the never ending question… we face this issue in the public library as well. Personally, I think ALL Toni Morrison books deserve to be placed in the literature section, not African-American section.
So, what books go where? Who decides? It can’t simply be any book written by a black author automatically goes into the African-American section… can it?
My favorite cheater from the list is Sheba from Notes on a Scandal (she was 41 and he was 15… so wrong…. so wrong).
The grass is always greener, eh?
For the record, I’m pretty sure I can find happiness being “rich” or being “poor”, but I would have more fun being rich. I’m just saying.
Spoiler Alert: Humbert Humbert from Lolita is #1; which sounds about right
Haha—I really love that 2/3 of the top 3 are Victorian novels. Coincidence? I think not. More unreliable Victorian narrators: Lockwood (Wuthering Heights), Pip (Great Expectations), Jane Eyre, Lucy Snowe (Villette), and Esther Summerson (Bleak House).
English rant: over.
You are right, Victorian narrators are notorious for being unreliable (they tend to see only what they want to see). Thanks for the additional books!
By a boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
A boa constrictor,
I’m being eaten by a boa constrictor,
And I don’t like it—one bit.
Well, what do you know?
It’s nibblin’ my toe.
Oh, gee,
It’s up to my knee.
Oh my,
It’s up to my thigh.
Oh, fiddle,
It’s up to my middle.
Oh, heck,
It’s up to my neck.
Oh, dread,
It’s upmmmmmmmmmmffffffffff …” —Boa Constrictor by Shel Silverstein

It is so hard to know if there’s a NEW photo of Alexander Skarsgård online because he wears the same THREE outfits all the time! Seriously. Not to mention the same pose.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE me some Alex dearly… but I can’t tell if a photo is from yesterday or two years ago.
clearly someone doesnt have the askars clothing bingo card or just doesnt pay enough attention to differentiate the four see thru shirts, three pocket squares, three grey suits etc.
Ha! I would love an Alexander Skarsgard clothing bingo card. That would actually be pretty cool. I’m sure someone is working on that as we speak…
I’ve watched Real Genius at least 20 times (it was one summer in high school when it was in full rotation on Showtime or something) and I love this film. If you haven’t seen it, watch it. It has all the 80’s stereotypes (nerds, obligatory girls in bikinis, rebellious teenagers, etc.) and most importantly it has Kent. The nerd antagonist who continues to stop the protagonist by all means but only to fall victim to his own schemes. What more could you ask for!
Oh yeah, Val Kilmer’s in it too.

I had no idea Roger Ebert had his lower jaw removed and can no longer speak. Where have I been?
